My paintings and drawings derive from organic subject matter such as plant life, underwater life and just life itself.

My love and respect for colour combined with the love, feel and smell of paint and pigment {and hardware stores},is why I'm able to express all these things in the paintings I make.

I'm constantly challenged by balancing and including the figurative, the abstraction, and the painterly expressionism. Each painting I make seems like a revelation, where there is something to be learnt from the process, and I take something from that painting into the next one. Although driven by love of colour,paint and organic matter, the paintings are created out of necessity to verbalize something for which no words exist. The ambigous titles,which the paintings whisper,suggest all of this.
